Masuwe Primary School

As former volunteers of the Nakavango Conservation Programme in Victoria Falls, myself and the other volunteers wanted to make a tangible and sustainable difference to the children and teachers of the Masuwe Primary School that stole our hearts.

Prievious volunteers have contributed to building accommodation for the teachers, some of whom don't take salaries (some for 2 Years) to allow the children to keep coming to school. However still some parents cannot afford the $60 a year school fees, due to the 95% unemployment rate in Zimbabwe. As the only years of schooling that most of these children will recieve in their life times, we want to help provide them with the best education and learning environment possible. I will transfer all of this money into the school's back account as I get each new donation.

By donating you will be contributing to:

-New textbooks for every grade ($40 each for about 40 books)
-A new pair of shoes for every child ($10 per pair for 180 children)
-new school supplies for the teachers (papers, pencils, chalk, etc) ($200)
-Unpaid school fees ($60 per year for 20 children)
-Unpaid teaching salaries ($400)
-Provide sanitary wear for young girls to continue going to school during their periods (About $300 for reusable cups)

There will be updates as these goals are fulfilled. Please help spread the word!
