Day to day living expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christine Bencich.
I have started this gofundme to assist me with my day to day living expenses.
On Wednesday, 10 July 2024 I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke.
I came home from work as an AIN at a new job I had only started two weeks prior. I got ready to go to my Osteo appointment I had booked around 5.30pm. My girlfriend and I had decided we were going to go to the club for dinner so I dropped Kate off at our local club while I went to the Osteo for my appointment. When my appointment finished, I headed back to the club to meet Kate. I got out of the car and walked around to the passenger side to get my change of clothes as I had worn comfy clothes to the Osteo. From that point I don’t remember anything else.
I have been told I collapsed before opening the passenger door to get my clothes out. I was told that I was collapse in the carpark for just under an hour before a beautiful couple found me when they went to get into their car. The couple then rushed into the club and got the manager to call for ambulance. The ambulance soon arrived and took me to Shoalhaven hospital. At Shoalhaven hospital they confirmed I had, had a ruptured brain aneurysm. Shoalhaven did not have the facilities to assist in saving my life so I was transferred shortly after to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. The team at Prince of Wales Hospital preformed life saving surgery by opening up my brain and clamping the aneurysm. I am so very, very grateful for the amazing surgeon and his team that were able to save my life. I am one of the very lucky people to have come out of this situation alive and able to communicate. I still have a very long road to recovery as I cannot remember things, cannot speak and communicate as well as I used to. As I work on this, I am unable to work and earn an income to pay my day to day bills and mortgage. I ask that if you’re in a position to help, any small donation will go to keeping me afloat while I get my life back to as normal as possible.
I have been told it will be around a year until I am able to return to work and get my drivers license back.
I really appreciate any help. Christine.
