Help Amy and Marcus stay on their feet while their little Trey stays strong.
Marcus Anthony Alonzo Mitchell III, our Trey, was born on February 9, 2015, perfect, happy and seemingly healthy. On Wednesday, February 11, Amy and Marcus were told that there was a problem with Trey's heart and he was immediately transferred to the NICU at the Walt Disney Pavilion at the Florida Hospital for Children. Amy was also admitted in order to continue to recover from her delivery. On February 12, Amy and Marcus were told that Trey has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, or HLHS. What this essentially means is that the left side of his heart is underdeveloped. The surgical options for HLHS include cardiac transplantation and the Norwood procedure. Trey is currently sedated in the NICU while doctors wait for his body to become stable enough for the Norwood procedure, which will be taking place in the coming days. Amy is unable to leave the hospital at this time and Marcus is staying strong by her side. Any money contributed through this GoFundMe will be used towards helping them stay afloat with medical bills and other household bills while they spend their time helping Trey get better. The love and support the family has received has been incredible. If you are able to contribute, I know they will be forever grateful.
