Help Nick Schelkopf 's recovery!

Donation protected
As many of you know, on Wednesday September 6th, Nick was the passenger in a vehicle that was T-boned by another car on his side, while turning into our subdivision.

Upon arrival to the ER, he had bi-lateral chest tubes placed due to collapsed lungs, multiple rib fractures, mediastinal hematoma (a pocket of blood by his heart) and one in his pelvis that they will continue to monitor for bleeding. Multiple fractures to his lower back which we are blessed did not affect his spinal cord and will not at this time require surgery.

He was then rushed to the OR due to some internal bleeding. He had to have his spleen removed due to the damage sustained and the amount of bleeding. He is in the ICU now on a ventilator. The major injury is that he has a severe pelvic fracture. The plan is surgery tomorrow. He will need internal fixation to "put it back together".

He was able to open his eyes, and follow commands momentarily when his sedation wore off.

Nick and the Schelkopf family will have huge medical, Months of rehab, and general expenses associated with these types of injuries. As you know Nick is an amazing athlete and an even better young man. Please help support them in their time of need.
