Mercy's Next Round Of Treatment

As many of you may already know, our 11-year-old daughter, Mercy, has battled a life-threatening condition for over 9 years. Technically, she is still undiagnosed. However, her specialists have treated her for an extremely rare autoimmune disease known as OMS (Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome) affecting only one in 10 million children. She continues to have daily seizures, a constant tremor in her left foot (which over time has atrophied her left leg muscles and caused foot deformity), short-term memory loss, insomnia, unsteady gait (balance), and brain damage resulting in cognitive delay and slowed speech. Ironically, she may be the most joyful child you will ever meet and loves life as she lives it to the fullest. She has inspired so many people over the years and continues to do so everywhere she goes. Some have even said, “She has changed my life”. WOW!
Over the years, we have explored and attempted various avenues of treatment for Mercy including a plethora of prescription medications, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and four rounds of different chemotherapies in an attempt to reboot her immune system (which seems to be attacking her own body and has caused permanent brain damage as a result). She has also gone through an extensive program known as Brain Balance, which included intense diet restrictions and rotations as well as body and brain exercises and the regular use of essential oils and vitamins. Since Brain Balance 3 years ago, we have kept Mercy on a gluten-free diet, weaned her off of all prescription medications, and have continued to use the recommended essential oils and daily vitamins.
As any parent knows, we are willing to do whatever we can in order to bring relief to Mercy. It brings us renewed hope to dive into this next phase of Mercy’s care through chiropractic wellness. We have just recently been introduced to an amazing Christian man by the name of Dr. Roles who is a holistic chiropractor, internist and clinical nutritionist here in our city of Henderson, NV. He has cried with us and prayed with us for Mercy’s healing and for wisdom to make the best decisions for her continued care. He has also completed a panel of testing on Mercy’s health including her nervous system, muscle tension, organ function, antioxidant level, and spinal alignment. Through his findings, he has worked to develop a very unique and specialized program for Mercy involving a 3-month treatment plan consisting of weekly spinal adjustments, upper cervical care (targets the back of the neck increasing blood supply to the brain and proper immune response), a strict personalized diet as well as whole food supplements and minerals to help repair the brain and redirect the body from attacking itself.
Of course, none of this comes cheap, and even with our medical insurance, we are still looking at a cost of approx. $3,000.00 for 3 months of treatment that will begin in January. At our last consultation with Dr. Roles, we explained to him that in order for us to pursue this avenue of wellness and healing for Mercy’s body, God would have to provide financially. So we present our need before you all, our friends and family who have fallen in love with our little Mercy and have supported us as we believe God for her complete healing.
