Daizee Dae, Nick and Tammy Jo's soon to be 3 year old daughter (my niece), had some nose bleeds in the past few weeks. She then started bruising on her legs, arms and neck. We live in a small town in Central Montana. Tammy and Nick took her to get some blood work done and she was immediately on her way in an ambulance to Billings ( a larger hospital ) to have a formal diagnoses and to get her platelets stabilized. This was Tuesday 6/13. The doctor here told them to prepare for leukemia. They are pretty sure that is what is going on but want a formal diagnosis.  She was taken via ambulance to Billings where a formal diagnosis of Leukemia was made and  she underwent a 5 hour blood transfusion. On Wednesday they were life flighted to Denver Children's Hospital, where she will remain for at least a month for her first round of chemo.  Yesterday she went to surgery for a bone marrow sample and a spinal. Today, they put her under again to put a port in. She will start chemo this evening.
Londyn and Kaylee, sisters, are staying with grandma and grandpa. Melissa (oldest daughter) is in Denver for the summer with her Dad.
Funny moment: When we were telling  grandpa that they were going to put a PORT in Daizee, Kaylee got real wide eyed and said " What? They are going to put a CORD in Daizee?? Will we have to plug her in when she comes home??" Out of the mouths of babes!!
We are all praying and trying to do our best but this is probably one of the hardest things we have ever been through. Tammy Jo is a RN at a local community heath center. Of course, this will mean that Tammy Jo will not be able to work for a while. And Nick, having already had 1 surgery, is still dealing with back issues and is still on work comp. They have a LONG, HARD road ahead of them.
The Dr said they will be back and forth between Denver and home for at least 2-3 years.  Not knowing what the future holds with their jobs, the stress of all the expenses that they are enduring is waying heavy on them both.
Prayers for Daizee Dae please! She is one tough little girl!
Please help them raise money to help them out with expenses, it's going to be a long road for them all.  We are greatful for all donations and the monies will go Nick and Tammy Jo to help pay for travels and medical care for our lovable little girl Daizee Dae. Thank you #PrayForDaizeeDae
