This is very hard, and we were debating doing this. 12/10/15 we gave birth to our very premature little Lily. We don't know have any answers on anything right now besides praying and being hopeful. It's a very rough road and it's the most painful scary thing in the world. Believing that one day she can come home, considering she came into the world early we haven't had all the time to prepare. If you are able to help, thank you, if not it's okay the prayers are what's needed. Pray for the doctors and nurses and machines that are keeping baby alive right now. We have a long road ahead of us ❤️
Tha nk you you to everyone who has donated ! Liliana is a little over a month old and so far she is progressing. As for medical news we were told a week or so after she was born that she had 2 brain bleeds a grade 3 and a grade 1. This week we were told that they read the scan innacuratley and they believe it is 2 grade 3 bleeds. Praying they can resolve on their own. She has a large PDA( it's hard to explain but my understanding it that it's an opening between the blood vessels that normally close when a baby is born, and it causes blood to continue to flow through the lungs instead of going throughout the body). Unfortunately due to this they cannot treat her brain bleeds because it can cause the bleeding to get worse. The stronger and bigger she gets then they will look towards closing it with surgery. She is on a conventional ventilator she has a tube down her throat to her lungs. The PDA causes her to desat throughout the day for example her oxygen reading will be at 85-95 which is great, and then dip sometimes to the low 40s which shows them that she's not ready to try breathing on her own.
Thankfully, she is gaining weight she poops on her own and she is alert. The issues I listed above are very common with premature babies her age. Time takes time and we are just praying daily for her to grow big and strong. Thank you to everyone who has donated this far just thought I would give an update.
