Prayers for Samson and family

Samson Eugene Hartzog was born at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine on 7/30/17. My grandson was a perfectly, happy, and healthy baby boy. No complications during pregnancy or birth and was right on track for growth during his wellness check ups. Unfortunately out of nowhere, on the night of 9/14/17 around 11pm, he seemed not himself. He was rather fussy and at around 4am his mother decided to take him to Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Fl. From there he was life flighted to Shands in Gainesville, Fl. His vitals were failing and it could not be determined why. They eventually were able to stabilize him.
As of 9/18/17, Samson took a turn for the worst . He was doing great all day, until he wasn't. His heart rate shot up from 140 to 190 and his blood pressure went from 80 to 30. It took them about 15 minutes to get them to go back. They couldn't see any reason for it to suddenly change, so they ordered an ultrasound. This showed that his heart was very close to failing, so they made the decision to put him on the ECMO machine, which bypasses his heart and lungs by taking blood out of his body, oxygenating it and cleaning it, and then putting it back in. He'll be on this machine for 2 weeks, and heavily sedated during this time. Based on the labs that have come back and the events of the last few days, they believe this is some kind of a heart defect that he was born with. Please continue to pray for him, we're not sure what the next step will be to getting him better and bringing him home.
Meanwhile while we are fighting the most important battle, my son is not able to go to work as he works in St. Augustine and understandably does not want to leave his son's side. I hate to see him struggle with finances during an already difficult time in our lives.
