Prayers for Pierce

Donation protected
Pierce is our 10 month old Shepard mix rescue pup.  From the day the rescue brought him up from the South, Pierce has been a miracle puppy.  The day after his original adopters brought him home, he was diagnosed with parvo, along with the rest of the litter.  Pierce was the sickest of all, and there was a time when nobody thought he was going to make it.  But he survived.  After being nursed back to health, his family had to move and were unable to bring him along.  That's when we had the privledge of meeting, and eventually adopting our Pierce.  From the second we brought him home, he was our sweetheart dog.  His brother (and littermate) could be at 1,000 miles an hour, and Pierce was just content to lay with us on the couch.  He is our cuddle bug.  On Tuesday, March 10th 2015, our world came to a halt when Pierce slipped out of his collar and got hit by a car in front of our house.  He was lucky to survive, but has a long road ahead of him.  His pelvis was basically shattered, and on March 12th, he had surgery at Metropolitan Vet Hospital to attempt to repair it.  Again, the general opinion of everyone was that there would not be enough bone left to repair.  But Pierce is the miracle dog.  There was enough bone, and the surgery went well.  Much to our disbelief, we were given a grant to fund the surgery from Paws of Promise, a program through the hospital to help families provide life saving care to their pets when they can't afford it.  Now we are turning to you.  Our friends, family, and everyone in between.  We still have to fund Pierce's long road to recovery, and we are hoping to be able to give back and donate to Paws of Promise, so that we can pay it forward to another family faced with such a terrible situation.  We are hoping to raise enough money to pay for the remaining recovery and hospital costs for Pierce as well as replace some of the money given to us from Paws of Promise.  Any amount helps!  We understand the difficult situation a lot of families find themselves in these days, and we are only asking for as much as you can spare.  Our family would not be the same without our cuddlebug, and we are forever grateful to anyone involved in keeping him right next to us on the couch, where he belongs.
