Prayers for Janine

Eleven months ago, in April of 2014, our mother, Janine Grantham, began her 7, 191 mile journey from Atlanta, GA to Dungying, China. Her desire and passion to educate the youth had inspired her beyondthe borders of the U.S. Having traveled to other countries several times, her spirit felt led to teach English in foreign countries. Never fearing what the huge move would bring her, we sent her with our prayers and well wishes.
She began her teaching in Dungying, China where she taught English at the Aston School. She taught children from ages 4-17 and was able to travel with the school as well. She is currently teaching at the Shandong Youth University of Political Science in Jinan, China. She has spoken on Foreign Affairs on behalf of the university and has truly been revered as one of the best foreign professors at the university. Her kindred spirit and desire to help others wheverever she goes has naturally followed her around the world.
Monday, March 2, 2015, while preparing for bed, a tragic event transpired. A Chinese heating pad (termed hot water b
ottle) exploded as she unplugged it. Her body was burned by electrically heated water and she has suffered second and third degree burns on 5% body. Due to the severity of her burns, she's being treated at the Jinan Central Hospital Burn Center in China. As of now, doctors are telling us that she will be required to stay for a minimum of 30 days. Unfortunately, her insurance only covers a small portion of her stay. As we all know healthcare is challenging, especially abroad. My sisterand myself are trying to raise the remainder of the balance for her care. With that being said, we are asking all of our family, friends and colleagues to make any donation if possible. All donations will be sent to China for her care. We trust and believe that God will restore our mother's health and she will return safely, and quickly to the U.S. upon her recovery. We ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to be faithful as we work to help her through this difficult and long process.
