Prayers for “Pea Pod”

Many of you know that me and my mom are HUGE animal lovers—like beyond. My mother, Michele, has the biggest heart for her family and her pets. The story starts with a little dog with a big bite.
Katie, aka “Pea Pod,” was rescued from a Puppy mill and needed extensive dental work. She was malnourished because of her rotting teeth and severe pain, leaving her too afraid to eat. Even though my mom, working at a grocery store with absolutely no wiggle room, took her in and got her the surgery she needed. Katie flourished and soon took up a Napoleon complex in our little “brat pack” of pups.
On 10/25 we brought our little girl to our mobile groomers and when she returned an hour later, we knew something was wrong. Her front leg would curl underneath her body and she would fall forward or to the side. Thinking she was having a stroke, we brought her immediately to the family vet. We were told she might have a herniated disc in her neck and would not be diagnosed unless she had an MRI—which can be anywhere from $3000-$4000 dollars. Our vet suggested pain medications and steroids to help and see what our game plan should be.
On 11/13, Katie’s Health took a turn for the worst. Katie could no longer use her hind legs or stand up on her own. With total assistance needed, my mother has been feeding her, bathing her and hydrating her. We had brought her to the vet again, had an XR to rule out any spinal fractures and were told to take her to an MRI as soon as possible.
Katie and my mother need your help desperately. An MRI for a canine can range from $3000-$4000 and we just don’t have that money at the moment. Any little bit helps to help out little “Pea Pod” back on her feet!
