<div><strong>On New Years Eve, Merced was headed home from work and at exit 40 on I-79 he hit black ice going 30mph, spun around hit the guardrail and rolled 3-4 times, landed on the top crushing the driver side in with entrapment.  Trooper Perdue was following and witnessed everything. He climbed inside the passenger side holding his head up cause he was loosing oxygen while a young Tennessee Lineman busted out the back window climbing through to cut his seatbelt. Jaws of life had to be used to remove him from the truck.  Kayla ( health-net flight attendant) was driving by, stopped and started IV’s with fluids, and rode to CAMC with him. Long story short, his spinal cord was crushed and spinal injuries are beyond critical. On January 2nd, he underwent a 5hr surgery and depending on this outcome with a rehabilitation facility will let us know if he will ever walk again.  This is the last man to ever deserve anything like this  </strong>

<div><strong> He stepped up as a father, grandpa, and now a new great-grandpa.</strong>

<div><strong>With every ounce of you, please continue to pray for him and if you can’t make a donation, PLEASE just continue to pray. Mom and I are at CAMC, she sleeps in a chair in his room and I sleep in a chair in the waiting room. </strong>

<div><strong>He’s their only source of income and is self-employed contractor/drywall. </strong>

<div><strong>We are staying POSITIVE that he will walk again and gain all the strength back in his fingers.</strong>

<div><strong>Trooper Perdue came by to check on Merced and explained what happened as he was traveling to the other side of the interstate for the other rollover caused by the same ice on the same bridge. </strong>
