My sister in law Carrie and her husband Andrew Grant are expecting a baby boy in November. They have twin boys (Proctor and Alastair) who are a year and half and two pups named Tuff and Jackson. They just recently bought a home in Travelers Rest. Carrie is blessed to be a stay at home mommy as Andrew works and attends nursing school.
Carrie went in for her normal 20 week visit for ultrasound and found out that the baby was retaining fluid. The doctors did blood work that came back negative. A few weeks later, Carrie went in for a follow up ultrasound that showed that the fluid that the baby was retaining was suppressing the development of lungs. Doctors recommended a procedure to help relieve the baby from the extra fluid that was building up. The procedure was successful, but the fluid came back rather quickly.
With the rare procedures that have been recommended, Carrie and Andrew have had to travel to Philadelphia leaving behind their twin boys and new home. The doctors have determined in order to keep a close watch on Carrie and the baby, they will need to stay in PA for several months. The doctors have a plan to get Carrie as close to due date as they can to help the development of the baby.
Carrie and Andrew have incredible faith and have trusted the Lord in every step of this journey. They take day by day and give thanks to God. While they have much faith, they have also been faced with the burdens. They have a home in SC that has needs while also needing housing in PA during their stay. They have their two boys who remain in SC with family, who will be without their mommy/daddy for several months. The boys have needs that will need to be met. Carrie will need to have an adult with her at all times, which means Andrew will be out of work. The financial burden is one thing we hope we can help eliminate for them.
The most important request is Prayer. Pray for comfort while away from their boys. Pray for the doctors who perform procedures and make decisions for the baby as well as Carrie. Pray for their boys.
