Markus Fontenot's Funeral Fund
Update: Markus passed away and went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 12, 2015. All funds and proceeds collected will now be directed towards his funeral expenses and any funds remaining will go towards an education fund for Markus' unborn child (due September 2015).

Dear Family and Friends,
On Monday, February 23, 2015, twenty-two year old Markus Fontenot was in a horrific car accident. He sustained a severe spinal cord injury, resulting in total paralysis. He underwent emergency surgery and is on a ventilator at the University of Tennessee Medical Center’s, intensive-care unit (TSICU). At the time of the accident, Markus had no medical insurance.
Markus is the sole provider for his young family of three which includes his girlfriend Rachel and her nine month old daughter Kamia. They are also expecting their first baby this September. He is a hard worker and was a shift supervisor at Qdoba Restaurant in Knoxville prior to the accident.
Markus is a compassionate, loving, and caring young man, who always goes beyond the call of duty for everyone around him. Markus has touched so many families and lives throughout the community with his kindness, warmth, and loving nature; as has been shown by the outpouring of love and concern by those whose lives he has touched. He is truly a light in this world and his soul shines as bright as his smile.
Please help in any way that you can to assist Markus on his path to recovery. He has a long road ahead of him and will need the strength and support of the community to rally around him and his family during this time. Donations to Markus’ GoFund account will help to defray the costs of his hospitalization, subsequent rehabilitation, and his continued long-term care.
