Hope for Rolanny
Donation protected
Rolanny, our beautiful, vibrant 10 year old, was stricken by a severe form of Dengue on Sunday, March 1st. When she first developed a fever, the local hospital mistakenly sent her home. But when the fever spiked and symptoms such as vomiting blood as well as internal bleeding appeared, she was transported to another hospital, where a specialist was brought in for treatment.
On Wednesday, March 4th, Rolanny was in critical condition and not expected to survive. Since Wednesday, however, her condition has somewhat improved, but she is currently in an induced coma, receiving very costly medications.
The Dominican Republic is notorious for having a very poorly funded and managed hospital system. The poor, like many Americans, lack medical insurance.
To help Rolanny's family provide her with the critical care she needs we are reaching out to parents everywhere who understand what it means to have a seriously ill child. Any little donation to heal our beloved Rolanny will be a blessing to our family.
