Praslicka versus Hurricane Harvey

Donation protected
It is hard to write this and harder to ask for help.

If you don't know Michael and I we are first responders. Michael is a Firefighter for the City of Freeport and I am a paramedic for Angleton Area Emergency Medical Corps.

Michael and I are so use to helping everyone else that it is hard to be on this side and needing help. While we were able to get our furbabies out and some cloths everything else is in the water.

We both went on duty for Harvey to help our communities but on Friday night September 1st our house flooded. The sewer backed up and into our home along with the flood water causing major damage. Water remains in our home and it is unknown of when the waters will recede so that we can start the process of rebuilding.

In August of 2012 we designed and built our dream home but now we are having to start over. We worked so hard to build our home that has now been ruined by nasty flood water.

While we have flood insurance everything is not going to be covered. Our home was prepared for a hurricane not a flood as we were not home much due to Hurricane Harvey and being on duty. My car and his motorcycle was in garage and is a loss.

We are going to use the funds to help cover the upfront cost of contractors and supplies since this is such a large scale disaster it is going to be awhile before we will have access to insurance money but also having to use what money we have saved. The money will also be used for long-term living expenses of maintaining a household that we are unable to live in.

We know so many people are in need and we appreciate anything that is donated.

We also appreciate and are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support that we have received so far.

As we go back to work we look at our community and are so blessed to see how much we all have come together. We love our little community and we feel blessed to be able to continue to serve you in your time of need.

Sincerely,

The Praslicka Family
