PPE for ETHIOPIA - Face Shield for health workers

As you know, all over the world we are losing too many people to the Corona virus, COVID-19. In our country, Ethiopia, just like in many other places, there is a scarcity of medical personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep health workers safe while caring for affected patients.
Our social enterprise, Desert Rose Consultancy Plc. runs a workshop with an industrial laser cutter in Addis Ababa and we have been approached by doctors asking us to help produce protective face shields that could be quickly distributed to health service workers across Ethiopia. We have received open source designs made available by the Global Centre for Medical Innovation (GCMI) at this weblink:

We will ensure all the money raised goes towards the material and production costs of the PPE for health workers who are serving tirelessly with limited protection. In Ethiopia there is only one doctor for every 10,000 people. So we need to keep each doctor and nurse healthy and safe for as long as possible.
But we need your help to raise funds for the production of each PPE face shield and humbly ask for whatever contribution you can make.
With the current local costs of material we can produce one protective face shield that meets the medical design specification at under 8USD and our initial target is to raise enough funds to produce at least 2000 face shields and bring production costs down as we scale up. We will be working with the Doctors who receive our shields to ensure the design is working and we can quickly make adjustment if we need to.

We are a social enterprise. Any profit we make through our work is reinvested into Ethiopian start-up businesses, local charitable causes or expanding our activities. We provide business management and cross cultural consultancy services as well as manufacturing water filters and educational games. We primarily employ people with disabilities to manufacture our products in Addis Ababa creating job opportunities for those who face the biggest challenge in finding employment.
