Exploring the power of technology

My name is Nicole Kerr and I am a 3rd grade teacher at Bass Elementary school. My 3rd  grade classroom includes a variety of energetic, lovable and free spirited children. I teach in the heart of Chicago's south side and although funds and resources are scarce, my students are motivated and so very eager to learn. 75% of the scholars in my classroom are reading below grade level.  

With such a limited budget, it becomes a challenge to develop well rounded students with scarce resources. My goal is to make my classroom a safe haven, full of love, exposure and life long learners.
I am asking for assistance with purchasing a MacBook air. I will have the opportunity to create multimedia lessons, create imovies as well as allow students to work on a projects  in real time. I can also access a ton of educational aps so my scholars can explore almost any subject. I will have current resources right at my finger tips, and in a technological led world, such access will enhance my scholars's real world preparation.


If given the opportunity not only myself but my scholars will be able to engage in interactive activities and games which will reinforce previous taught skills.
