URGENT NEED--UPDATED--LAPTOP
Mijente Louisville and Black Lives Matter Louisville are leading an Occupation at the Louisville ICE building, with the following demands:
-Public statements from all elected officials, condemning the actions of ICE and calling for its abolishment at the state and federal levels.
-A Border Patrol that acts as a humanitarian rescue force.
-Establishment of a truth and reconciliation commission to examine abuses perpetrated by Homeland Security agencies (ICE, CBP, USCIS, TSA).
-End Operation Streamline. This federal agency "tries" and imprisons dozens of shackled immigrants at once, criminalizing people for what was once a civil matter.
-Reparations distributed to the millions who have been terrorized by ICE.
-End hyper-criminalization and mass incarceration of black and brown communities.
We have already surpassed our initial goal and were able to purchase TWO generators! I have agreed to update this page to raise funds for a laptop. So far our friends have had to do all logistical and social media work on their cell phones, so I have agreed to update this page to raise funds for a new laptop. We have already been so successful with this campaign that we have a start toward purchasing a laptop, but we STILL NEED A LOT OF HELP! We would love to be able to purchase a new laptop as quickly as were able to purchase the generators!
Support from the community has been unbelievable! Smaller-item needs are being met consistently and quickly. This page was originally set up to purchase a generator, and we have raised enough in one day to purchase TWO! We will continue to raise money for large-item needs, and this page will be updated as those needs are determined. Any amount raised that is not used to cover food or material needs will go to Mijente's organizational account, so please continue to give what you can!

*In the interest of transparency, I (Shannon Bostrom) am withdrawing the funds to my personal account to purchase the generator until we figure out a way to connect an account for BLM/Mijente. I will provide all receipts to the group leadership.
