Pour House Covid-19 and Legal support

Hey everyone,

 Joe Apkarian here, veteran, Marine Raider and  owner of The Pour House Bar at 103 Market St, Wilmington, NC 28401, so we are at the point where we kind of need some help.

We’ve been forcibly shut down since March 17th due to NC Gov. Roy Cooper’s Covid-19 executive orders. We have had zero support from city, county or state and we long ago used our PPP monies.  I am currently working a federal contract for FEMA on virus response matters to try and get some income and float the bar while still falling further into debt.

We are also currently in a legal battle with the City of Wilmington and their Historic Preservation Commission to keep the artwork in the stairwell entrance to our bar. I originally received some support from friends to pay a portion of those legal bills but that has long since been gone and I’ve been paying for this as well.

So that’s where we are, fighting a two-front fight. We need support to pay off bills and rent as well as pay legal fees to continue our appeal process with the city. Any additional monies will be used to support our staff who have been out of work this whole time.
