hi friends :) today is my 34th birthday: it's been quite the unfolding. in the continuous process of becoming, i've been privileged to secure a date and insurance coverage for a gender affirming surgery. the immense bliss is coupled with the reality that i will be out of commission and unable to do my paid work-- which entails manual labor-- for up to six weeks after surgery. while i find myself struggling to share my personal business and ask for help, i'm leaning into the vulnerability.
i've been investing my resources into (and acquiring a boatload of debt) becoming a queer and trans-affirming therapist. as a full-time student and a therapist in training at an lgbtq+ youth counseling center, my paid working hours are limited. suffice to say, i am not in a place where i can afford to go without income.
the understanding that our systems are fucked, resources are limited, and need is vast, sits deep in my gut-- yet the only place i know to turn is to community.
i cannot even begin to articulate how grateful i am for any support, even just for your time in reading this. thank you. thank you, thank you, thank you.
with immense gratitude,
