Post-Surgery, Emergency Housing and Trying to Recover Safely

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tony.

I’m asking for help because I’m recovering from major surgery and was suddenly left without housing during the process.

In December of last year, I suffered an injury that ultimately required open surgery. My housing was tied to my job, and once I was injured, I lost both my ability to work and my housing at the same time.

I did everything I could to prevent this outcome. I filed paperwork with the court, submitted multiple doctors’ notes, and requested a short medical accommodation while I prepared for surgery and recovery. Despite this, the sheriff carried out the eviction on January 21 — just days before my surgery on January 29.

I am now post-operative, under strict medical orders not to lift or exert myself, and temporarily staying in a hotel with my partner, our small dog, and our cat. We only have a couple of days left before we’re out of funds.

This support would go toward:

• Temporary housing

• Storage and recovery-safe transportation

• Food and basic living needs during recovery

• Allowing me to heal without risking further injury

This is not permanent. As soon as I’m medically cleared and back on my feet, my goal is to work again and pay this kindness forward.

If you’re able to help — even by sharing — it truly means more than I can put into words.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
