Post-flood Recovery For Tirunelveli Dist. Students
Donation protected
On December 17, heavy rain and devastating floods killed numerous individuals and stranded others. Tamil Nadu has received nearly half of its yearly precipitation through this flood, and the Indian Meteorological Department forecasts continual downpours. Dams have been overfilled, so authorities have unlocked them. Due to this, over 100,000 cubic feet of water have flooded into residential quarters. As a result of this action, many homes and buildings have collapsed. Citizens have lost substantial amounts of money invested in their properties and businesses. In support, the government has initiated 240 shelters to aid Tirunelveli citizens' recovery, but the flood has been progressing rapidly, claiming many lives. While the government and relief programs have provided food and shelter for citizens, educational necessities for children have not yet been provided. Textbooks, backpacks, and other essential school supplies have been submerged in the downpour. Citizens question the government's support as they claim that their efforts have been ineffective. The effects of the flood will likely persist for a long time, so community support is essential to aid their recovery. Education ensures a stable future while supporting the progression of society. The funds collected through this cause will provide Tirunelveli children with supplies crucial to their education and holistic recovery. Every dollar collected will assist in the provision of school supplies for Tirunelveli district children.
