Dear friends, family and followers,
Here is my story.
In September, 2009- coursework for my EdD in learning technologies program for begins.
On May 13, 2017- 8 years later, including 2 years of attending engaging and stimulating classes with a fantastic cadre and amazing professors, researching and writing about innovative learning activities and environments, attending and presenting at many conferences, receiving some broken bones (bike accident), a hospital stay (pneumonia), as well as several other medical and financial opportunities masquerading as challenges, (most recently, a dead car), I made it! I passed the final defense of my dissertation with no modifications and graduated in May as Dr. David Greenfield! Pretty cool, huh!
Unfortunately, an automatic job does not come with my new title, and I find myself in a rather desperate (but temporary) economic situation, and do not have money for rent and insurance for the month of August. There are several opportunities for work and projects bubbling, but right now I am swimming is a sea of anxiety and am looking for help. I need $2200 to cover my rent, health insurance, and telephone bill (plus a couple of other things like food). Any and all help will be most appreciated, and will allow me to focus on finding employment instead of rent. My goal is to find a position educator/innovator/technologist in an institution (academic or museum), and I am close to achieving this. I have a couple of irons in the fire and am waiting for responses. But an eviction notice will not be good at this point and will definitely set me back in many ways. While I was a student over the past several years, I received academic, and emotional support as well as some economic assistance at critical times. It is a critical time now.
My dissertation (Beyond super heroes and talking animals: using graphic novels in schools to teach social justice and identity issues) has attracted interest in several important institutions, as well as my blog postings at:

Your help now will allow me pay my rent, health insurance, phone bills, food and some misc. costs for the month of August. During this time, I will to continue to pursue my professional goal, as well as find a temporary gig or project that will bide me until I find a long-term position. I will truly appreciate and value any and all help that you can provide me at this time.
