Our amazing and dear friend Michael Uppington and his partner have built an amazing life for himself over the past few years at a beautiful property in picturesque forrest surroundings in Coimbra, Portugal.
The worst thing imaginable has happened, his forrest and house has tragically been caught in the wildfires, burning everything and destroyed his house completely.
Fortunately the boys, their goats and the goats shed have survived. Life has prevailed however nature has not. But they have now lost everything, everything they worked so hard for. Michael has poured years of hard work into the property and the land and it is difficult to express how deeply this will affect them. They are wonderful people and they are going to need every bit of support their friends can muster to get back on their feet.
I have set up this page in the hope we can come together to donate whatever we can. Funds will go towards helping to rebuild their lives. If you can’t donate financially, there is a Facebook page where you can get regular updates on what they need. If anyone has any clothes, tools, agricultural tools or time to donate, that would be a great help to them. If you cannot provide any of these, even support in kind by liking the Facebook page would be beneficial.
I was unsure how much to set the estimated target to be, however if anyone can donate anything, no matter how small, every penny counts, and hopefully together we can help the boys to get back on their feet and help get their picturesque property back to the way it was.
