PORTUGAL WILDFIRE - ANIMALS

Given the recent wildfire in Pedrógão, Portugal we aim to support as best we can the non-human victims of this tragedy: animals left wounded, homeless or without a family due to the horrific events that are taking place.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims in this dark hour. It's with a heavy heart that we watch one of our country's beautiful natural landscapes burst into flames, taking so many lives with it. Many efforts and national protection programs are already in place to support, treat and relocate the people affected by this massive inferno.

Help will be offered in the form of petfood, medical and surgical products to those in need. There is no official strategy program that includes animals and local institutions are doing the best they can with the means they have.
With your help, these funds will reach the non-human victims of the tragedy. Many families were torn and severed by these horrific events. Pets are family too so we're focusing on changing these families lives, for the better.
Here is further information to complete our story:
1. A clear explanation of how we know the beneficiaries:
The official Veterinary Medicine Professional Barr (www.omv.pt) has been in constant contact with veterinarians and volunteers sending them support in the form of food and medicine. We are veterinarians enrolled in this professional association and contacted them prior to the fundraising to ask if we could crowdsource funds in order to support some of the bills that have been piling up, so that help in the affected area and animal rescue doesn't stop from lack of finacial support.
2. A clear plan on how we intend to deliver your donations:
3/4 funds will be used to pay bills of animal food, medicine and medical supplies that the Veterinary Barr is currently sending out to the Pedrógão professionals and volunteers.
1/4 direct donation to Animal shelter "Pegadas & Bigodes" whose  animals had to be relocated and are in want of financial support to pay feed and pending medical bills (from before the fire).
Delivery of ALL the funds wil be justified and clearly stated on the Petable FB page (www.facebook.com/petable.pt) and here on the GoFundMe campaign story.
