Portland 2 Houston Hurricane Harvey

The inability to no longer stand by and watch the devastation in Houston caused by Hurricane Harvey has prompted us, a small, but well-meaning group of individuals to mobilize and organize community efforts to bring a truckload of much needed supplies to the nation's 4th largest city during its time of need and crisis.  We ask, no we beg, that you please consider donating what you can spare to cover the cost of gas and other incidentals so that we can arrive safely in Houston to disburse the items that our community has graciously donated.

Ibeth Hernandez, Joyce Olivo, Juma Blaq, and Jessie Sponberg, long-time community organizers, will be traveling by plane and vehicle from Portland, Oregon with plans to arrive in Houston by Monday, September 4. Lodging while there will be provided by friends that have been affected by this tragedy and are looking forward to the help we promised.

We have already collected more than a considerable amount of items, such as:

Hygiene products
Diapers/Wipes
Clothing
Water
Food
Sleeping Bags
Inflatable Rafts
Inflatable Beds
Linens
Blankets
Formula
First Aid Kits

We will be accepting donations of such items through Sunday, September 3.

There are many agencies, organizations, and individuals assisting with Hurricane Harvey Relief. We would like to join the efforts and do our part on behalf of the Portland Community.
