Porter’s Radiation Treatment 12.20
Porter is 14 & was recently diagnosed with Apocrine gland anal sac adenocarcinomas (AGASACA). It’s a malignant tumor in his anal glands.
My vet at City Pets Animal Care in Nashville initially ran tests & then we confirmed with a sonogram & additional tests at Blue Pearl in Franklin, TN. His doctor recommended an oral chemo pill (Toceranib) that Porter started on 10.20.20. Fingers crossed that he’s receptive to the medication.
They recommended that we also treat his tumor with radiation so we made the 3 hour and 45 minute drive to Blue Pearl in Sandy Springs, GA. The consultation went well and his radiation treatment requires a CT scan which’s costs $1,200. The treatment will cost $3,000 to $3,600.00. We’re going back to Blue Pearl in Sandy Springs on Thursday, December 10th for his CT Scan and then will schedule his radiation treatment within a couple or weeks.
If you can help with his treatment, we would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you,
Jaime and Porter
PS. Here’s some information from a couple of places that have helped me learn more about his illness.
