Porter Medical Fund

For eight years the Porters have given back to their community with Arizona Curriculum Theater, by bringing the arts to more than 100,000 Arizona schoolchildren, and also by developing community events like PoeFest that have become a Phoenix tradition after 8 years. The Porters have done it completely as volunteers often donating their own money to sustain the organization.

Unfortunately they are unable to operate at the same pace with the recent diagnosis of cancer for James, his surgeries, and continued medical complications.

What's worse is the massive debt that continues to accumulate and threatens to ruin them financially, and destroy everything they have worked for.

It was a pain-staking decision to start this fund-raiser. But we believe no one should feel ashamed for getting sick, and we believe no one should have their financial lives destroyed because of crushing debt caused by a medical crisis.

So we are reaching out to our family, our friends, and our community for just a little bit of help to ease the burden and stave off financial ruin. Your small donation can have the power to change a life for the better. Please help.

Funds will be used to pay off debt accumulated since James's diagnosis in early 2015.  We are in debt over $50,000.

The fund-raiser is only asking for $1,000 because we know our network is not wealthy, but the Porters' debts are much higher than that.
