Porphyra, needs your help!

Porphyra is the first Italian on-line magazine to focus exclusively on Byzantium. Founded in 2003 by Nicola Bergamo and promotes Byzantine history, culture and civilization.  On 2012 it became totally academic and international. It is biannual.

Porphyra publishes and divulges articles and essays of high scientific value, always approved by a committee of the most esteemed academic members worldwide. PhD are the criteria required to publish, along with thorough research, passion and method. Our aim is to contribute to the transmission of an accurate knowledge and perception of what Byzantine culture was, and of its connections with both, our past and our present. We also aim at fostering the awareness of how much our culture has inherited from the Eastern Roman Empire.

Porphyra is completely free, all issues are downloadable without pay anything. If you want to keep Porphyra free of charge, please help us to reach the amount of money that we need to pursuing our aim!

Year cost:

100 euro (provider)
500 euro (GSuite basic)
800 euro (print 100 hard copies of 2 Porphyra biannual issue)

If we can reach the goal, we can also print two biannual issues and possible cover cost for the entire next year.

As soon as possibile, considering that every costs of maintenance  weighs on the founder and editor

A list of benefactor names will be published on next Porphyra issues
