Hola soy Arielka, mamá de dos niños, ambos con una enfermedad genética, ADRENOLEUCODISTROFIA ligada al X. 
El mayor, Donatto de 15 años, ya desarrolló los síntomas de la enfermedad por lo que su visión y su movilidad están reducidas.  A causa de esta enfermedad ha desarrollado también epilepsia. Para salir del departamento anda en silla de ruedas.
Donatto está ahora en  un tratamiento compasivo que le ayuda de momento a estar estable.
Mi otro hijo, Lorenzo de 7 años, está internado desde hace 1 año 1 meses en el hospital SJD Barcelona desde que fue sometido a un transplante de médula ósea que supuestamente podía ayudarle a no desarrollar los síntomas de la enfermedad genética.
Lamentablemente Lorenzo desarrolló un EICH (enfermedad injerto contra huésped; esto quiere decir que las células del donante no reconocieron el cuerpo de mi hijo y lo atacaron). 
Este rechazo ha desencadenado una serie de complicaciones en todo su tracto intestinal y su vejiga. Lorenzo tuvo que ser sometido a una intervención muy complicada en el intestino. 
Su situación es muy delicada desde entonces y ha tenido que ser intervenido en tres ocasiones más. Ante esta situación, mi esposo y yo no hemos podido regresar a nuestro país ni buscar trabajo. Estamos solos aquí en Barcelona. 
En un principio nos financiaba una farmacéutica, pero finalizado el ensayo clínico en el que participó Lorenzo y por el que nos mudamos a España, dejaron de financiarnos. Nos encontramos en una situación realmente complicada en cuanto a pagar el alquiler, gastos de alojamiento, alimentación y transporte. Agradeceríamos enormemente cualquier ayuda.
