Poppy's Leukaemia Journey❤️

Hi, Our names are Polly & Tom. One of our closest friend's 4 year old daughter recently been diagnosed with Leukaemia. Here is a bit about Poppy's story...

Shannon (Poppy's mum, our friend) took Poppy to the doctors as Shannon was concerned that Poppy had anaemia as she was very pale and bruising easily all the time.

After many tests and checks on the 16/6/2022 Poppy was sadly diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

On 17/6/2022 Poppy started her first course of chemotherapy.

After several hospital appointments and admissions, Poppy then had another terrifying diagnosis of steriod induced diabetes. This has now meant that Poppy is now insulin dependant.

Poppy has to attend the hospital twice a week. Shannon and Poppy currently live in Grimsby at home with Shannon's Mum. The hospital that they have to attend every week is 72 miles away from their home.

After having all this awful news about her daughter Shannon has had to take time off work for her little girl. She has had no help from her work whatsoever. Paying for hospital parking and paying for fuel to get to hospital every week is a struggle for Shannon.

As much as Shannon is struggling she's doing as much as she can to try and help Poppy. Shannon is unable to claim benefits to help and unable to claim disability living allowance. As Shannon is a single parent, we cannot imagine the stress and worry she is going through right now.

Any donation whatsoever so that Poppy can get to her hospital appointments every week would be a great help and massively appreciated by all.

Poppy is a fighter much like her Mum, shes a happy chatty little girl and with your help she will be able to beat this horrible disease.
