Comet's foot operation

Tax deductible
Comet was born at our rehoming centre on the 25th November 2020, along with ten other puppies. Their mum was part of a cruelty case where there were six XL Bully's with their ears illegally cropped. This is obviously a barbaric thing to do so the owner was taken to court and prosecuted.
When Comet was three days old, it was noticed that her back foot was red raw and her toes looked deformed. We immediately rushed her to the vets where they said it looked like a friction burn and could have been accidentally caused by mum. She started her medication and we were told if it did not get better, she may need an amputation.

Fast forward a couple of months and Comet's leg healed lovely so thankfully the amputation was now not looking like it was needed. We needed her to grow to see how she would cope with her foot as it was clear she was missing some part of it and the nails were mostly gone. She seemed to do really well and it wasn't until she was seven months old that she had her first flare up where she seemed in pain with her foot and couldn't put much pressure on it.

She is now over a year old and does suffer from the occasional flare up but now she is pretty much fully grown we have been able to assess the situation to see what can be done to make her as comfortable as possible.
We were referred to Pride Vets to get the best opinion and it has been decided she will need an operation to straighten out the bones in her feet and this will therefore make her more able to put pressure on the foot and walk comfortably.
The operation will cost just over £2000 so we are asking for donations as we are a self-funded branch and bills like these hit us hard, especially with the current Covid issues stopping us from fundraising as much. Every penny will help us towards getting Comet better. She has been through so much for such a young dog and we would be so grateful for anyone who wants to help us reach the goal for her.
