POP Community support for the Greenwell's

As many of you may know, Courteney’s husband Ben was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma which is a brain tumor in March of 2016.  At that time, he had a few surgeries to minimize the tumor along with chemo and radiation. By June of 2018 the tumor had grown requiring yet another procedure.  In 2019, Ben had to have a resection to remove some of the tumor, 5 shunt surgeries, and a craniotomy for exploratory purposes (to check on the progression of the tumor). Following the craniotomy Ben developed a rare brain infection that limited his ability to speak, move and care for his own basic needs. He then had another craniotomy to confirm the infection (that he has since been treated for), but he spent several weeks in the ICU healing from the infection.

Ben is now recovering at home, but his battle is far from over. Once he is well enough, he will have to start maintenance chemo to keep the cancer from growing. Our beloved Courteney has been by his side every step of the way, not knowing what the future holds. When Ben is well enough, she comes here to take care of our Toddlers in the Popit program. Courteney does all of this effortlessly without asking for a hand to help or even a shoulder to cry on.

The Prince of Peace Preschool Community Outreach Committee has decided to intercede.  Our hope is that as a community we not only continue to uplift Ben and Courteney in our prayers, but that we also provide some assistance during such a trying time in their lives. It would be challenging to make a list of all the things they may need, and to avoid us all gifting the same things, we will ask for monetary donations so that they can manage the funds accordingly. Right now, Courteney and Ben are thankful to have each other, let us join together and give them something more to be thankful for.
