<div>Ne znam kako bih sročio uopće svu bol koju trenutno nosim u sebi... ponovno prolazim kroz situaciju koju već dobro znam. Nakon što sam sahranio didu, baku i oca, bolest je sada napala moju majku.

<div>Moja mama je predivna žena, borac, osoba koja me dizala iz najtežih trenutaka mog života, žena koja nikad nije prestala biti optimistična, čak i sada kad je dijagnoza jako teška...

<div>Nakon višemjesečne borbe s doktorima, testovima i posjetama bolnicama, došli smo do prekasno otkrivene dijagnoze, radi se o rijetkoj i jako progresivnoj neurološkoj bolesti. Svi simptomi upućuju na oblik ALS-a, bolesti koja postupno oduzima čovjeku osnovne životne funkcije poput govora, kretanja i disanja. Za tu bolest nažalost nema lijeka, ali postoje neke kliničke studije i privatni tretmani koji bi joj potencijalno mogli usporiti razvoj bolesti (pričamo o mjesecima)

<div>Mama je trenutno stabilna, ali je u kratkom roku izgubila 30 kg i gotovo svu snagu u rukama i ramenima. Ima poteškoće pri gutanju hrane i pića. Unatoč svemu, mama je i dalje jaka, nasmijana i, kao i uvijek, brine samo za mene. Neke se stvari nikad ne mijenjaju...

<div>Nach monatelangem Kampf mit Ärzten, Tests und Krankenhausbesuchen haben wir nun - leider zu spät - eine Diagnose erhalten. Es handelt sich um eine seltene und sehr fortschreitende neurologische Erkrankung. Alle Symptome deuten auf eine Form von ALS hin, einer Krankheit, die einem Menschen nach und nach grundlegende Funktionen wie Sprechen, Bewegen und Atmen nimmt. Es gibt leider keine Heilung, aber es existieren klinische Studien und private Behandlungen, die das Fortschreiten der Krankheit möglicherweise verlangsamen können (wir sprechen hier von Monaten).

<div>Momentan ist meine Mama stabil, aber sie hat in kurzer Zeit 30 kg verloren und fast ihre gesamte Kraft in Armen und Schultern eingebüßt. Sie hat Schwierigkeiten beim Schlucken von Nahrung und Getränken. Trotz allem ist sie immer noch stark, lächelt und sorgt sich - wie immer - nur um mich. Manche Dinge ändern sich nie...

<div>Laut den Prognosen der Ärzte steht uns eine schwere Zeit bevor. Deshalb wende ich mich an euch in der Hoffnung, dass ihr uns helft, die verbleibende Zeit so schön wie möglich zu gestalten - so, wie sie es verdient hat.

<div>After months of seeing doctors, undergoing tests, and visiting hospitals, we finally received a diagnosis - unfortunately too late. It’s a rare and very progressive neurological disease. All symptoms point to a form of ALS, a condition that gradually takes away basic human functions such as speech, movement, and breathing. Sadly, there is no cure, but there are clinical studies and private treatments that could potentially slow the progression of the disease (we're talking in terms of months).
