Police Sergeant Battling Cancer

Sergeant Jose Valles has been a Police Officer with the city of Huntsville for over 25 years. In early 2018, Sergeant Valles was diagnosed with colon cancer. After multiple rounds of radiation and chemo it appeared he was taking the lead in the battle. Regrettably, earlier this year he learned the cancer had spread to his liver and is now terminal. Despite setbacks and complications, Sgt. Valles is set on fighting for his life and continue with treatment.
As a member of Huntsville PD, Sgt. Valles has served his community in many capacities: as an FTO (field training officer) for over 20 years, a bike patrol officer, a narcotics detective, as part of DEA MET unit, and a SWAT team member. He was a DRE (drug recognition expert) for 10 years, and has been a standardized field sobriety test instructor for 15 years.
Sgt. Valles has a hard-working wife (also a LEO) and six children. Three of which have gone on to serve their country in the US Army, and three children are still at home.
Please show your support to Sgt. Jose Valles as he has helped so many others throughout his lifetime with years of dedicated service. As he receives bi-weekly aggressive chemotherapy, he is sometimes forced to miss work due to the side effects of his treatment. All money raised will go towards mounting medical bills, treatments, surgeries, and other household bills. We want him to be able to focus on his fight and not stress about the financial burdens that are stacking up due to this fight.
Unfortunately, many are aware of the outrageous medical costs associated with the fight against any type of cancer. When we read gofundme rules and were setting up the fundraiser, it asked for a fundraising amount we’d like to raise for him. We wish we could enter “any monitory gift helps.” We understand people have needs and struggles too. Therefore, your contribution whether it be monetary, in prayer, in positive thought, or any other gesture of support is greatly appreciated.
