De-escalate OH Heartbeat Movement - a grassroots organization being led by people directly impacted by police violence - needs your support to raise funds for an outreach campaign to elected lawmakers!!!
Police brutality and police murders continue to happen across our country & several of Ohio's cities are in the TOP TEN for police murders of residents in the US. This is a CRISIS and we need IMMEDIATE and CONSISTENT communication from our communities that WE DEMAND CHANGE AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
Ohio grassroots social justice organizations will be hosting postcard parties in their homes, churches, libraries, and community spaces to build community with each other and collect postcards to be mailed to our public officials - we have to show them EN MASS that this is a crisis that communities all through Ohio care deeply about!
In order for De-Escalate OH Heartbeat Movement to make this campaign happen in all 88 counties, we need only $1,000 to purchase the postcards and stamps!! For our goal of $1,000 we can send 3,000 postcards to our elected officials and build power for the growing movement to end police brutality! De-escalate OH Heartbeat Movement is working for:
- Mandatory De-escalation Training
- Mandatory Mental Health Crisis Intervention Training
- Priority CPR
- Racial Bias Training
- Using non-lethal force as the 1st option
- Saving human lives!
