Polar Bear Plunge for SickKids

A year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare form of bone marrow failure, which forced me to put my division 1 soccer dreams on hold for a year. Although I was absolutely devastated, I was lucky enough to be treated at the SickKids hospital in Toronto. Spending so much time there, it was clear to see what a difference they made in the lives of these children and their families. The care I recived there was top notch and it was amazing to see how much time and effort all the staff put in towards helping their patients, from the doctors, to the secrataries, to the volunteers. The doctors, residents, and nurses I worked with were all 100% committed to getting me healthy and back on the pitch, and I can easily say that I would not be where I am today without them. SickKids is currently fundrasing to rebuild their hospital because of the outdated building they are currently working out of. I figured this was the perfect oppoutunity to give back to a foundation that has done so much for me and my family. That being said, if I reach my goal I will take part in the Polar Bear Plunge and will dive head first into Lake Ontario on New Year's Day. All donations are greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small.
