My name is Finnian Shannon,I have been growing my hair since January and now I’m doing a head shave on Sunday 25th October 2020 to raise much needed funds for Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association and Monaghan/Cavan Palliative Care, these two charities have been an invaluable support to our family this past year. My mother Mary Shannon was diagnosed in September 2019 with Progressive Bulbar Palsy ,a form of motor neurone. This is an incurable disease that affects the motor neurons,which leads to muscle wasting. In my mother’s case this has rapidly caused loss of speech,difficulty breathing and swallowing. Both of these charities have provided support and services to my mum and to us as a family since her diagnosis. The money raised will go directly to these charities so that they can continue to provide for people in need of care. I want to thank you all in advance for your generosity.
