A Rather Urgent Relocation

Recently, my father, who lives in Hamilton Ohio, has been diagnosed liver cancer.

Over the last month or so, I've been working to be down there (Cincinnati, Ohio) as often as I can, to help out and to be there for my parents, but I need to return home for good.

On two artists' budget: Flying or taking the Greyhound back and forth has been breaking the bank, putting us into a deficit even, and making the move near impossible.

We are moving out of our old place by the end of April, whether or not we've managed to find a new place for us to live, because our niece has volunteered to take our lease.

So, I need to work on our old place in Grand Rapids to fix the place up and move our things out... but I also need to keep working my new job in Cincinnati (which I took so I can move here), apartment-hunting, and car-shopping down there as well.

At the current rate it will be months before I am able to move Bethalynne down here, or have a place for either of us... and without a vehicle I can neither visit her in between nor actually move us and our things. It also makes moving closer to my parents impossible right now since there are no bus lines to Cincy anywhere near Hamilton.

My goal is simply to buy a reliable 2001-2005 vehicle capable of making it from Cincy to Grand Rapids and back, and to get us into an apartment midway between parents and work.

I aim to do manage most of this myself, and would not be looking for help at all if the time we have wasn't so very short... what I am asking for is simply the deficit, what of all this I know I cannot make.
