Surgery for Taz
Donation protected
We woke to Taz having trouble breathing and took him to a local vet who referred us to Bluepearl Veterinary Partners in Midvale, Utah diagnosing him with a spontaneous tension pneumothorax. Basically a hole in part of his lung that is leaking and trapping air inside his chest cavity.
Upon arriving at the animal hospital Taz's gums and tongue were blue from not getting enough air so they rushed him back and pulled 4 liters of air from his chest via a needle and chest tube. For the past several days, Taz has been staying in Midvale being kept stable and trying to heal on his own after a small procedure but is not improving. The vet has let us know he will not make it unless he has major surgery which will be quite invasive having to split his chest open to remove part of his lung.
We have thought long and hard and weighed our options and we are not going to say goodbye to him just yet. We are going through with surgery and getting a new Taz for Christmas.. with that being said this surgery has an overwhelming cost attached to it and any help would be so supportive and would mean the world to us to help save Taz's life.
