Hello, my name is Todd Lachance. I am a fine art painter, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Much of my time is spent outdoors painting from nature (plein air painting). My goal for this gofundme campaign is to raise funds to be able to buy painting supplies and fund trips, so I can bring military veterans that are struggling with PTSD outside to experience some art therapy.
When I'm in the wild and working, I find a sense of peace and a real connection to nature. I feel sharing this experience with these veterans will benefit them on many levels.
Your funds will go directly to the purchasing of equipment; outside easels, brushes, paints, canvas panels, etc (there will be a complete breakdown of supplies on my website) It will also fund the trips. I want to be able to offer this program at no charge to the student. I would love to have three or four bags to be able to take a group out for the day!
My role in this is to reach out to the community, be their guide in the outdoors and offer my expertise. They will be creating something that they made with their hands, eyeshttps://youtu.be/gx--gBeJ6Sk and minds!
It would be perfect if I could spend the fall and winter putting the painting bags together and reaching out to potential students to commence in the spring of 2020.
I've always thought this kind of a program would help so many people in need. I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to make it happen and with your help it will.
