Cassandra's Medical Fund

Hello,
I'm Cassandra's Math teacher Ms. Martinez. With permission from her family we are doing this campaign to help out one of my best students. 
What Happened?
Cassandra has been suffering from seizures and was eventually diagnosed with Encephalitis. It's an acute inflammation of the brain.  She continues to have seizures and it's affecting  her eye sight and some of her memory.  After her siezures, she has a hard time seeing but can recognize voices. She was at a local hospital but was transferred to UCLA Mattel Children's hospital by helicopter yesterday where they specialize in these cases.
She has been stable but still require's treatment and we're not sure for how long. She's likely going to need brain surgery.
As you can imagine, the family is going through a horrific ordeal. They have been by her side and the loss of work has been, and will continue to be, a financial burden on them.
We would like to show them that they're not alone and that we'd like to help support them. If we can get financial help for them that would be some of relief for their trying time.
