To everyone who knows me or has read my book, Dangerous Mistrust, you’ve undoubtedly heard me speak about my best friend—my angel friend—Pennae. She has been a God-sent vessel in my life, speaking light and hope into some of my darkest moments. Now, she needs that same life-giving support.

Pennae has suffered a series of strokes, the most recent just four days ago. Doctors are still searching for answers—what’s causing them and how to prevent more. Right now, she’s in the hospital, battling paralysis and facing a long, difficult road to recovery. I have spoken personally with both her doctor and with her, and I can hear the strain and weariness in her voice. She is exhausted. She is overwhelmed. And she needs help.

As many of you know, Pennae is self-employed—a gifted hairstylist who has poured her heart and talent into serving others. But healing requires time, and being unable to work right now has placed an incredible financial burden on her. On top of her personal and business responsibilities, she is also the sole provider for her son, who is in his first year of college. The weight of it all is unimaginable, and the stress is making an already difficult situation even harder.
