<div>This GoFundMe has been created for our dear friend in need. Mechelle received a diagnosis a little over a year ago and has been battling a serious illness since then. Mechelle is a mom, daughter, sister, former Kwanzaa Group Committee member, and our fashion enthusiast. She has supported people in the community and assisted with developing community events. Now, it is time to give back to her while she is in need.

<div>Despite the overwhelming challenges her illness presents, Mechelle has been graceful and light-filled in her journey. Within this year, she has shown incredible courage and resilience in the face of extreme adversity, undergoing multiple surgeries, radiation, as well as other daily medical procedures with unwavering determination. However, due to these unforeseen circumstances, it kept her from attending work. Within 3 months of her extended hospital stays, she was terminated from job with little to no notice. This added a new layer of challenges with the financial burden of medical expenses, including health insurance that has risen to almost $800 per month. Not to mention other expenses such as rent, food, other monthly bills and supplies needed for her daily procedures such as gloves, wipes, medical tape, bandages and more.
