Hello, I am Hassan Abuwarda, a fourth-year medical student from Gaza-Palestine. I hope you read my story while you all doing good.

I am writing to you while I am in the midst of genocide in a place where I have not felt safe for 6 months to ask you to help me get out of here to complete my studies in a safer place.

My story began when I was ten years old, when my teacher included me in the health group at school. Since that time, I have dreamed of being a doctor, helping relieve the pain of patients and helping people live longer in good health with their families and friends. I always saw the doctor as a hero saves people from death, and I always wanted to be that hero.

As you know, we have spent 6 months so far in this genocide. In fact, they killed my friends, my classmates!. And my phone was broken while we were fleeing the bombing, and all my pictures and memories of them were gone with it. They have destroyed everything, universities, libraries and hospitals, lefting us with no necessities to complete our education here.

Because of our financial situation, I did not ask to enter medical school because its fees here are very expensive, but my mom insisted on me and my dad to achieve my dream. I studied hard, worked hard on myself, and volunteered in my city’s hospital and health organizations during these 4 years, I was about to start clinical training in the hospital and I was very excited about it, but everything stopped.

All I ask is that you help me go to a safer place to continue my education, like Egypt. Going from Gaza to Egypt alone requires $5,000, and it will cost me $5,000 university fees. If I can collect this amount, I will travel there and complete my education, and after two years I will graduate and become a doctor, every patient I treat and every life I save will be because of your generosity.
