<div>Earlier this week, our beloved Kyle Lobes was in a serious car accident and was rushed to the emergency room. After a series of CT scans, it became clear that his injuries were beyond what the first hospital could handle. He was transferred to another facility where a top orthopedic trauma surgeon would perform a highly complex surgery.

<div>What Happened
</div>
<div>Kyle’s pelvis was obliterated on the right side — specifically, the acetabulum, the cup-shaped bone that holds the head of the femur in place. To prepare for the surgery, the orthopedic team drilled a hole through his femur and used a traction system to pull the femur away from the joint, creating space to access and repair the damage.

<div>In addition to this devastating injury, Kyle also:

</div>
<div>Fractured the other side of his pelvis (surgery for that will come in about 3 months, once the front side heals — and will require him to lay face down),
</div>

</div>
<div>Fractured his left scapula, which doctors hope will heal on its own,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Has only one functional arm at the moment.
</div>

</div>
<div>One of his doctors told us, “It’s like he has three flat tires.” The damage is severe, and the recovery will be long.
</div>

<div>But Kyle is Fighting
</div>
<div>Despite the pain, the overwhelming circumstances, and a dismal prognosis from his surgeon, Kyle is showing immense determination. The physical therapy team sees people overcome the impossible every day, and they believe in him — and so do we. Within just a few days, he has already made small but incredible progress. He’s motivated to push himself, and we are right by his side to help him do that.

<div>Kyle will need multiple surgeries, many months of rehab, and round-the-clock care. Gina — his wife and the heart of their home — is staying by his side day and night to support him and help supplement the nurses and aides. She’s caring for him with love, strength, and deep resolve. She is also balancing being at home with her young children - a challenging balance of her love and care.

<div>About the Family
</div>
<div>Kyle and Gina are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Ethan (14), Helena (12), and George (8). This has shaken their entire world.
</div>

</div>
<div>Kyle was laid off from GM six months ago and is currently unemployed. Gina is a full-time homemaker. With no income, only one working vehicle (the car Kyle was driving was totaled, and there was no collision coverage), and an overwhelming journey ahead, they are in urgent financial need.
