On Friday, May 9, 2025, Chetarra was the victim of a tragic hit and run as she was catching the bus to work. The driver collided with Chetarra and took off without stopping, leaving Chetarra to call the ambulance herself.
Since the accident, Chetarra, affectionately called “Chi Chi” by her loved ones, has had surgery on her legs and may have additional surgeries in the future. She has fractured her back in two places, fractured her pelvis, has scrapes up and down her body, received stitches above her eye and her kneecap was scraped down to the joint.
Chetarra is a hardworking fiancée and mother of two. Chetarra is generous, caring and lets her strong sense of right and wrong lead her in her interactions with others. She is the primary provider for her household and due to this accident she will be out of work for an extended period of time. Her road to recovery will be long and difficult.
Let’s come together as a community and wrap Chetarra and her family in the love, care, support and prayers they need at this time. No donation is too small. Please donate, share, and help us show Chetarra that her village is present and actively working to uplift her in her time of need.
We’re asking for your support. Every donation — no matter the size — will go directly toward Chetarra’s medical care and the support her family desperately needs right now.
