Halle and Cal are running 1 mile every hour, on the hour over 24 hours in order to raise money for Skylor's Animal Rescue in Dobshill.

Skylor's is a small, passionate, foster-based dog rescue non-profit and run by a family of 3 who rescue dogs from the pound, unwanted and abandoned, pets who can no longer stay with their family and ex-racing greyhounds straight from the track. Very recently, Skylor's have taken in 5 orphaned puppies (see pic), less than 3 weeks old that are being hand raised and fed every 4 hours! Your donations could help these pups grow up healthily and happily and find a home!

We will be kickstarting our 'marathon' at 3pm on Saturday 3rd December 2022 with a 3.22mile run. This will then be followed by a 1mile run every hour, on the hour until our last mile at 2pm on Sunday 4th December. (Yes, we will be running through the whole night :). We invite anyone to join with their fellow 4 legged friends to walk the last mile with us as we finish our marathon between 2pm and 3pm, starting at Chester racecourse and ending in the garden at Alexander's Live bar. For the last mile, Skylor's are kindly bringing along one of their rescue dogs to walk with us.

There are multiple ways to get involved... Firstly we are asking for any donation, big or small. All donations are greatly appreciated! We understand that times are hard. If you would still like to help but are unable to donate, please share this link via any platforms possible. Secondly, if anybody would like to join in on the challenge, we invite anybody to donate £5 to join us on a mile at any time throughout the 24 hours. This can be done at home or alongside us in Chester. (We could do with all the encouragement!).

We visited Skylor's to meet the dogs and ask where the money could be used once donated. We found that the majority of the funds would be used on vet bills to ensure our friends can have the best quality of life possible and find forever homes. Those of us with pets know how extortionate these bills can get for one pet, let alone a shelter's worth! On top of this the cost of getting dogs to the shelter safely is a massive factor for Skylor's, as they have rescued and continue to rescue retired Greyhound track runners from Ireland.
