<div>77 year old Ric Schultz, founder of Electronic Visionary Systems (EVS), lifelong audiophile tweaker extraordinaire and seeker of spiritual knowledge and presence, is seriously ill and down on his luck, and needs help to stave off eviction and to basically survive.

<div>Since 2019, Ric has suffered from severe cardiac amyloidosis. While he is on heart meds, and has had chemo and even experimental treatment, his illness was not diagnosed until two years after it arrived—those two years did serious, permanent damage to his heart.
</div>

<div>This has left Ric in dire straits due to very limited mobility and strength—basic movements necessary for life are difficult for him. He has other medical issues that he has never been able to deal with due to lack of money (including severe dental problems).
</div>

<div>Many of you reading this know Ric from his long, long presence on the San Francisco Bay audiophile scene—from the mid 1970s to now. Ric has been especially important in his work improving all things related to digital playback, since the late 80s. And for over 40 years, Ric has spent literally thousands of hours on the phone providing free advice and direction to audiophiles seeking help to improve their stereo sound and their equipment.

<div>But now his work doing audiophile modifications and wielding the solder iron has dried up, and his Social Security funds can no longer cover rent. He has sold off as much of his personal belongings as possible. He has almost no furniture to speak of and lives in a 300 square foot extra room in someone else’s house.

<div>Ric, however, has been keeping his spirits up by completing a lifelong goal—writing a book on spiritual healing, deep human bonding and love. He plans to create a website for his book and gather online interviews for promotion. This is no vanity production for Ric. He believes the advice in his book will make people lead happier, contented lives. He believes his book will be very popular once he can get it in the hands of those that can see and feel its worth. He believes that people need to accept and love each other more and he prays daily for the healing of humanity. He just wants to live long enough to see the book he has written help people, and if he can, he will do more to promote love and healing and spread positivity.

<div>Ric’s financial goal in this campaign is to get 6 months of rent and some money to have dental and other health concerns met. He hopes this is just a minor bump in the road, but it is large enough that some serious roadside assistance is temporarily needed.
